We Believe the Best Games Happen After Dark

PickleGear started with a simple problem: a group of friends who loved pickleball but kept running out of daylight. We tried headlamps, porch lights, even car headlights pointed at the driveway. Nothing worked well. So we decided to build gear that solves the problem from the inside out — paddles, balls, nets, and court lines that generate their own light.

Our Story

It was summer 2024 when our founders — a mechanical engineer, a product designer, and a former collegiate tennis player — found themselves finishing their evening pickleball games earlier and earlier as the days shortened. They loved the sport but hated packing up at dusk.

The idea was straightforward: what if the gear itself was the light source? After months of prototyping with flexible LED strips, phosphorescent polymers, and rechargeable micro-cells, the first PickleGear paddle lit up a backyard court in Austin, Texas — no extension cords, no generators, no excuses.

Today, PickleGear is on a mission to make night-play pickleball accessible to every player, everywhere. Whether you are a recreational player squeezing in a game after work or a club organizer hosting moonlight tournaments, we have got the gear to keep your court glowing.

Our Mission & Values

To extend the joy of pickleball beyond daylight — making every court a night court.

Innovation First

We obsess over materials science and LED engineering so every piece of gear performs in the dark without compromise.

Community Driven

PickleGear was born from players who wanted to keep playing. We build for the community, not the shelf.

No Shortcuts

Every product meets USAPA regulation standards. Visibility should never come at the cost of playability.

Accessibility

Night play should be available to everyone — backyards, driveways, parks. No floodlights required, no court rental needed.
